Hiya, reader(s)! Happy 2015! Everyone says "Can you believe it's already [insert year here]?" -- but in this case, it really does feel like 2014 flew by in a flash. Right? (Of course right! #fiddler)

Anyway ... not too much news from the ol' Potter homestead -- it's been relatively "status quo" over the last few months of '14, which is better than nothin'. We wrapped up a successful run of "Shrek The Musical" at Conejo Players Theatre, in which I played the Sugar Plum Fairy (amongst several other hilariously weird fairy tale creatures) ... I even created a funny "Penguin Shake" video featuring our entire cast for a contest that Ellen DeGeneres was holding on her show -- you can see it here!

Christmas was quite lovely ... lots of yummy food, lots of fun time spent with friends 'n' family, and even some blissfully cooler SoCal weather.

January 9th saw the opening of "Brighton Beach Memoirs," the great Neil Simon play that's kicking off the 2015 Season at Conejo Players. I produced it for my good friend, Ventura County directoress extraordinaire Erin Fagundes, and it's going quite well! We're getting great feedback from audiences ... and when Erin and I still laugh at it, even after having seen it 1,000 times -- well, you know the actors are doing something right.

Last night (Sunday 1/18), my fellow fairy tale creatures from CPT's "Shrek" reunited to perform "Freak Flag" for the Four Star Theater Alliance Awards at the High Street Arts Center in Moorpark, CA. The Four Star Alliance is a group of six Ventura County community theatres that get together once a year to laud some of our "best of the best" from the previous season, and to celebrate all the great work consistently being done all over the county. We really kicked the show off with a BANG, and it was ridiculous fun to "revisit the swamp."

As for what's next ... there are some exciting auditions on the horizon -- that much I do know. Outside of that, the sky's truly the limit. I'm currently looking for both writing AND performing opportunities ... so if you have any needs in either of those categories, don't hesitate to contact me! We'd have just the MOST fun together, so let's make it happen.

Stay tuned! You never quite know what's around the corner ... :)

Hey friends!

Just a quick note to let y'all know that the show I was privileged to take part in this past summer, "110 in the Shade" at Actors Co-op Hollywood, just won the 2014 OVATION AWARD for Best Musical: Intimate Theatre!!

This is a H U G E honor, bestowed by members of the L.A. Stage Alliance ... and we couldn't be more excited or more grateful! Our esteemed director, Richard Israel, had an amazing night himself -- he won for Best Director, Musical, for his direction of La Mirada's "Floyd Collins" (he was ALSO nominated for directing "110" -- he's not talented or anything) ... and "Floyd" itself won for Best Musical: Larger Theatre! (You could kinda say Richard swept the night, right?!) SO PROUD!! And as if it all couldn't get any better, my "lil' brother from another mother" -- Michael Byrne -- was a part of the "Floyd" cast, and we got to celebrate our shows' collective wins together. JUST THE BEST.

The awards ceremony took place at the beautiful San Gabriel Mission Playhouse on Sunday, November 2nd, 2014 ... and we all had a most fabulous time celebrating our show -- not to mention, all the best of Los Angeles theatre. It really is an amazing and diverse community, and I feel ridiculously thankful to be even a small part of it.

In other news, I'm in rehearsals for "Shrek The Musical" at Conejo Players Theatre in Thousand Oaks, being directed/produced by some of my Ventura County theatre pals; it's a fun romp wherein I play several hilarious and insane fairy tale creatures, and I have no doubt it'll be a nifty way to spend the holidays.

A new year is on the horizon, and I have a VERY GOOD FEELING about it. C'mon, Universe -- hook a gal up! ;) Keep watching this space for more info ...
